On the same server or from a remote device, what are you using to test the
connectivity, what security mode are you using... we need more detail! :)

Hi ,

From the server , Open the Query analyzer and try to connect using below
credentials,

server name : (local)

Connect using Windows Authentication.

If it succeeds , I feel there might be problem in network or else the server
name provided by you might be incorrect.
