sql server connect: Hi,

Has anyone ever tried or heard of a way to connect to SQL
via an old DOS compiler such as QBASIC or BC7?

Alternatively would any body know of an API to ISQL ?

Don't like my chances of people using 10year old s/w but
you never know.

Hey man !
You need to connect to a SQL-Server database from QB application ?
Yups! Nice problem...
I think you can't directly , but maybe using BTrieve you can make "gates"
between each DB...

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Yes stuck with a legacy BC7
system. BC7 is the follow up to QB and has been around
since the late 80s. We're in the process of converting to
SQL but need something to tie us over until completed.
Basically need to be able to pass transactions from BC7
to SQL and back again. Have been looking at named pipes
etc but no luck from a DOS based app.

Would you be able to expand on the gates concept?

If only there was some 16bit DB-Library that I could link
in to our libs all my problems would disappear. I don't
believe that such a beast exists.

Thanks again..

Arnold.
