sql server connect: Hi,

When trying to open the gui to create a linked server i
get the error 126 with an exception_access_violation. When
I click ok, it opens the linked server window but i don`t
have any data source available.
Any ideas?

Config:
W2KAdv Sp3
SQL 7 Sp4 Mdac 2.7 RTM refresh

Does this only happen on one client machine? If so, you may have a
mismatched MDAC or a corrupted file. I would suggest that you try to
reinstall the latest version of MDAC (assuming you're not on a SQL 7.0
cluster) and/or reinstall the SQL client tools. Also try applying the
latest SQL Server service pack to your client tools.
