SQL Server 7 - 10 Connections Problem

SQL Server 7 - 10 Connections Problem jackni42 NO[at]SPAM hotmail.com

sql server connect:
Configuration:
SQL Server 7 (developers edition) database on WinNT sp6.
Access 97 database on WinXP with link tables to SQL database.
Access 97 database on Win2K with link tables to SQL database.

Problem 1:
Opening 10 or more link tables from the Win2K box gives a "Cannot
Connect ... ODBC" error.
Opening 10 or more link tables from the WinXP box works fine.

Problem 2:
Running a VB6 application on Win2K with 10 or more connections to SQL
gives a "Cannot Connect ... ODBC" error.
Running a VB6 application on WinXP with 10 or more connections works
fine.

Question 1:
Why is Win2K limited to 10 connection where WinXP can have unlimited
connections to the same SQL Server database?

Question 2:
Will the full version of SQL Server 7 fix this?

A developer edition of most products is only meant for small development
work.
Small Business Server Edition of SQL is also limited as well.

The full version of SQL Server is not limited to specific number of
connections.
