sql server connect: Hi,

I really can not connect to our remote MSDE database running under Ms 2003
server web edition. I am thinking that it might be the problem of firewall
which block port 1433,but my ISP don't think so.

How can I check that my server is listening on port 1433 or not??

Check the SQL Errorlog on the server. It will show what port it is
listening on.
Check the NT Application Event logs. The same information is there.
Run netstat -an
