sql server connect:
I have Node1 (Win2K Sp4) with SQL2000 Database And Node2 (XP SP2) with COM+
components connecting to SQL Server Database on Node1. After installing SP2
for XP on Node2 my apps don't run they produce this error:
<description>New transaction cannot enlist in the specified transaction
coordinator. SQL Follows:
I changed the default settings for MSDTC "Security Configuration" to allow
Network DTC access, Allow Remote Clients, Allowed Inbound/Outbound
Transaction Manager Communications, No Authentication Reqd., Account used is
"NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService".
Also, changed the Local Policies\Security options --> Network Access:
sharing & Security Model for local accounts to "CLASSIC- Local users
authenticate as themselves"

I tested with DTCPIng Utility from both Nodes:
STEP 1: Node2 (XP SP2): When DTC ping is run to ping Node1(SQL server) -->
Result is : RPC test is successful

STEP 2: Node1 (SQL Server): When DTC ping is run to ping Node2(XP SP2) -->
Result is :
Invoking RPC method on Node2
Problem:fail to invoke remote RPC method
Error(0x5) at dtcping.cpp @289
-->RPC pinging exception
-->5(Access is denied.)
RPC test failed

I found a Solution to this..After opening up security as I mentioned
above. Go to Firewall and under Exceptions Add msdtc.exe And also a
AddThis Social Bookmark Button
