I have a VB6 client application connecting to a SQL2000 server(SP3). The
program alway stops after it processes around 200 records in the table and
getting a connection error. The client PC has MDAC 2.6 installed and other
parts of the system doesn't encounter this problem.

I had tried to run the very same program on the server and it works OK. I
believe it has to do with the connection dropped in the middle of the process.

There are many factors which can be causing this issue. It could be client
specific, network specific, etc. What is the connection error you get?

I suggest the following troubleshooting steps to help narrow down the issue
1. Is the problem always reproducible?
2. Does the issue occur from any client machine or just 1 client machine.
What MDAC version are you on. If possible try upgrading your client to the
highest MDAC version to see if the issue still occurs.
3. Does the issue always occur when running the same query?
4. Also, check if the issue is tool specific, for instance from the same
client machine, try running the same query from osql.exe or isql.exe to see
if the issue reproduces.
