sql server connect: [quoted text, click to view]

You could automate the re-linking of your tables, but the tables do need to
be detached then re-linked for the changes to show up.

Hi,

I have an access DB (2000) with links to tables in SQL server.

If I go back to my original DB and add a field, it doesn't show in the
Access list. I have to delete the link and then re-connect it.

Is there a better way of dealing with this?

Thanks,

Neil

Hi Neil,

I would suspect that behind the scenes, these table links are being
refreshed... it's the only way to let Jet know that something changed in the
(remote) table structure.

Hi Steve,

Thanks, actually found a way without deleteing - tools --> DB Utilities -->
Linked Table Manager.
