sql server connect: I'm not sure which newsgroup to ask this question, so I'll
try to do it here first.

I have a domain called Tower, subnet is 192.168.1.*
I have a SQL 2k server where my webpages and tables
reside. The client details page has the client's home
info, and a <img scr> link to their photo.

The pic files are actually located on a 2nd server on the
network. In the properties of that folder, I shared it
giving the domain guests and users read only permissions.
Everyone on this subnet can see the photos and such just
fine. The security is set the same way. Everyone on my
subnet can see the photos just fine.

I have some providers who have T1 connection to us,
therefore different domain. Their subnet is
192.168.109.*. We gave them one login in our AD as a
member of domain guests. When they need to see the
webpage, they have to type in the IP address of the SQL
server and then type in their login/password when the
windows login pop up.

They can see the webpages and information just fine, but
none of the photos show up.

Is there an issue with the permissions and different
subnets?

Any help is appreciated.

What other information do you need to know about my system
to see what the issue is?

Hi
This looks like a name resolution/account permissions problem, but I don't
know enough about your system to know who is accessing what using which
account!!!

You may find something in here!

Hi

Although you are trusting the user as a connection to the database, there is
no information regarding how the images are loaded and viewed. For example
if you access the machine where the images are held by hostname then it
unlikely that the client will be able to resolve this.

If the images are on the web server can they be accessed?

Hi

You could add it to the hosts file on each client until you do!!
