sql server connect:
Hi,

I have a problem with a few clients who try to launch an internal application.
The application tries to connect to a SQL Server ODBC connection which is
located at the SQL Server.

The error message that appears is :

Error: 08001 18 [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DNETLIB]SSL Security Error

I cannot find any information about this error in the Windows Eventviewer of
SQL Server log.

Any help would be much appriciated.

The problem is usually caused by enabling "Force Protocol Encryption"
option on your connection string or UDL., or by enabling this using the SQL
Client Utility. This option can only be set if the server has a
certificate and the client trusts the same root authority.

That depends.
If you're not using protocol encryption (SSL). Then disable it at the
clients and server.
I would disable it first on the clients. The error should go away then.

If you're trying to use SSL then, reply back and I'll assist you.
