SQL Server does not exist or access denied preet

sql server connect:
On system 1 when i try to connect to a remote server, i get the message
" SQL Server does not exist or access denied "

while on system 2 , i am able to work fine, without any issues.

i tried replicating the problem scenario both with a global IP and a
local LAN IP, and it works fine.

what could be wrong with system 1

system 1 is in a different location and a different ISP, and in a
different country altogather.

system 1 has a dual boot, so i installed client tools on the other o/s,
and still it does not work.

suggest

Did you try pinging the SQL Server from system1? Does it work?
Let us assume it works, next I would check the "SQL Server Client Network
Utility" to make sure that you don not have any unwanted aliases defined
there.

Perhaps the network protocols, check the security settings, check
permissions on the object you need to access. I thin the not exist or
access denied message is a generic one that can mean just about anything.
