SQL Server 2005- Express Service not RUNNING!

sql server connect: Hi,

The SQLEXP service is not running and when i try to start it,i get the
following error,

ERROR:The request failed or the service did not respond in a timely
fashion.Consult the event log or other applicable error logs for details.

Any help on this would be appriciated.

And what is in the Windows event logs? As the error
indicates, you need to check the event logs. The event log
will likely have more information on the service not
starting.
