sql server connect : How to modify connection timeout property in SQL 2005 management s

I am constantly getting connection timeout error when I tried to open SQL
2005 management studio activity monitor. In connection property window, I
found the connection timeout is set for 15 seconds. However I could not find
place to change the connection timeout. Management studio\tools\options shows
the execution timeout property but not connection timeout. Where and how I
can change the connection timeout in management studio?
Thanks,
Charts

Hello Charts,

You could set this in SSMS via Server properties->Advanced->Remote Login
timeout.

Thanks a lot Peter,
I made a change for Remote Login timeout according to your instruction. One
issue is that in SQL 2005 management studio activity monitor, connection
property window, connection timeout still shows for 15 seconds even I changed
Remote Login timeout to 200. Another issue is that in my SSMS,
tools\options\query execution, it shows execution timeout is 0. However when
I open a new query window, right click to access query options, execution
timeout shows 300 seconds. If I don’t change it, it will be timeout after 300
seconds. How can change it so each time I open a new query window the default
execution timeout would be 0.

Hello Charts,

As mentioned in dialog, this will only change after you re-connect with a
new session by click File->New->Database engine qurey.

If you new query in the current session, it still uses the value when
connecting.

Also, you could change "connection timeout" before logging to SQL server by
clicking "Options" button.
