sql server connect : SQLDMO connects to the wrong database

Hi guys - I am not sure if this is the news group I should be writing
to, but I have been having a weird connection problem with an application
that I wrote in SQLDMO when it tries to access the server.

The server has several databases and my application tries to connect to
the "MyAppDatabase." However periodically, the connection fails because
apparently ODBC tries to connect to a database called "OnCall." However, the
application has no information on this particular database and no reason to
connect to it. Connection fails because the user does not have permission to
it, but the problem is that it should not be trying to connect to that
database in the first place.

What is puzzling is that it comes and goes with no apparent pattern. We
made sure that the database was present nothing seems to be wrong with the
server.

Any ideas?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

What is the default database for the user logging in?
