sql server connect:
We are running a cluster with SQL Server 8 on Windows 2000 advanced server.
Recently, we changed the IP address of just the virtual server, for the
cluster. Not long after we were unable to connect to port 1433.

I checked in the regestry and the cluster setting is pointing to the old IP
address. Doing an nslookup on both old and new ip addresses resolve to the
sql cluster server.

Can I resolve this issue by changing the ip address in the cluster setting
in the registry?

Yes...the ipaddress in the registry and the sqlip resource need to be the
same or TCP won't bind...

Just dealt with this the other day....cool timing :)

Backup everything before you change it...
