sql server connect:
We have provisioned a new server to replace and existing SQL 2005 machine.

We have a few win2k clients most of which are getting a "connection broken"
error when trying to use the application that uses the SQL database.

All the XP machines are ok so seems to be something that is particular to
windows 2000.

The replacement server has the same name, IP etc as the old machine.

Any help on what is going on would be appreciated, cant shed much light on
the application as it is a 3rd party app

This doesn't give us too much to go on...but if the problem
PCs could connect to a server and then now they just have
problems with the new server, then it's not likely that the
replacement is the same setup.
Try updating MDAC on the problem clients. Or at least run
component checker to check their MDAC installations and
versions. You can download it from:
