sql server connect:
I'm using SQL 2000 & MSDE 2000

I'm having a problem connecting to a local database running on MSDE but
only when the computer isn't connected to the network. I've tried using
both TCP and named pipes, both work while connected. This was not an issue
until MS updates were installed.

MSDE is running on the local system account.

Resolved. I was mislead since the error message referenced SQL 2005 and it was not even installed.
