Hi,

please can anyone tell me where to find a good tutorial on Data Mining in
SQL Server 2005 that covers the whole process of data mining, from preparing
the data, models to testing and deploying a model on a new data set and
creating reports?

or at least which book would you recommend that provides the most thorough
tutorial on data mining in SQL server 2005?

thank you in advance!

marko

Hello,

Here is a book link: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?path=ASIN/0471462616&link_code=as2&camp=1789&tag=sqlserverda09-20&creative=9325

For tutorials, see the Tutorials section of the http://www.sqlserverdatamining.com site. It contains a generic tutorial for data mining with Sql Server 2005, a text mining tutorial and a couple of documents on authoring plug-in data mining algorithms for SQL Server 2005

Hi,

thank you for your answer. the thing is i have gone through text mining and
data mining tutorials on your website, but they just show the basics, and
deployment is not covered in either of tutorials. so just to be sure your
book is the complete tutorial, from creating models to their deployment and
with more elaborate explanations of results provided by different algorithms
(than it is explained in books online tutorial)?

thank you once more for your answer

best regards

marko
