sql server data mining:
Can anyone give any suggestions for great Data Mining and Business
Intelligence products on the market for SQL Server 2005? Are the built-in
products for this any good? I am just starting out looking into this. Thanks
for any help is appreciated.

Have you checked Analysis Services 2005, part of the SQL Server 2005 suite?
AS provides OLAP and Data Mining. In addition, it is worth checking Office
2007 Data Mining Add-ins for Excel and Visio.

Unless you have some special need, data mining software will typically
be operated independently of the database, once an extract is pulled.
You do not need to use Microsoft data mining tools with SQL Server:
the field is wide open. See the 'Software' section on KDnuggets for a
fairly comprehensive list of both free and commercial data mining
offerings:
