sql server data warehouse: Hi

We build Analysis Services cubes sitting on Sybase
relational end. We have partitions on of our big
cube. When I try to process any of the partitions(that
are worth 10 days of data) after an hour or so I get an
error "Timeout occurred." and the whole transaction
rollsback.
We are in pressure to bring up our production cubes. Any
sort of help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you ran the Optimize Scheama tool in the cube editor? See the
"Eliminate Joins between Fact and DImension Tables" secton in the Analysis
Services Performance Guide.

Another thing that you should look at setting up is the system-wide
processing log file so you can easily see and record a long-term history of
the SQL statements issued to your RDBMS during processing. See the
"Processing Log File" section in the Analysis Services Operations Guide.
