sql server dts: I need a little direction about how a the text file
(source) "file name" for the connection works within the
package. Here is my situation. I have created a package
the reads a text file and puts into a SQL table.
Everything works great on my development machine. I have
moved the package to a remote server that I VPN into and
have used the Enterprise Manager to make modifications the
the imported (now local) package. The source file is
located on the remote sever in a directory
named "dropoff". I have a mapping to this directory of
W:/dropoff, however the physical path is
D:/files/dropoff. I modified the package to use the
physical path but the connection failed. When I use my
mapped path it worked. This package is going to be setup
on a schedule and will be run nightly so I wont be logged
in executing it (although I am the owner).

Will the package execute with my (owner) server rights?
Is the file name based on the physical location of the
file or how the "owner" access the file? for instance
\\Server\myShare\dropoff\theFile.txt
