Hi

I want to copy some tables from an oracle database into a sql server database. I'm a total rookie on Oracle but as far as iI know I usually log in with a "service name", a user and a pw

Now, when I use a DTS package with a Oracle OLE DB provider as my connection, the connection options are "server name", user and pw. Thoose I have, but where do I tell the service name

Many thanks

In the tnsnames.ora file on the client.
You need to install the Oracle client and you can use the
Oracle Net Configuration utility to configure the client and
tnsnames file entries.
