sql server dts : Exporting data into a text file

Ok I have a problem with column names in my destination text file.
There seems to be a restriction on total length of column name
characters and I'm not talking about maximum characters per column
either.

e.g. Say I ha three columns - "col1,col2,col3" = 14 characters long

If Column Names property value (Disconnected Edit...) has more than
244 characters then the Destination Tab (Transform Data Task Property)
is empty and I alway get an error when I try to define columns from
the source.

I realise I can just abbreviate the column names to keep the total
under 244, but I thought there might be another way.

Here is some information about the text file driver but you may also want to
look at the article following

If this is what you are running into, you can download MS03-031 from the
Microsoft web site and get the fix for this problem.
