sql server dts:
I have created a simple DTS that copies Excel data into an Access table. It
works fine when I run it on my PC which is running Win2000 and is acting as
the SQL2000 server, while I evaluate it. I then loaded the SQL client
software onto another Win2000 PC and an XP PC. When I run the DTS from the
Win2000 PC everything is as is, however, when I run it on the XP PC (set up
to connect using SQL login since I have yet to get a reliable connection
using Windows authenticity) some of the columns do not transfer their data
to the Access table. I've did a preview on the connection link and the data
isn't visible there either. Can anyone help before I eXPlode??????

Hi David,

From your descriptions, I understood that your DTS package runs well under
Windows 2000 but fails under Windows XP. Have I understood you? If there is
anything I misunderstood, please feel free to let me know.

It seems very strange as I don't think Windows XP will lead to that kind of
losting data. Would you please upload your ERRORLOG in C:\Program
Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\LOG, if you installed them on default
directory

Moreover, it is still highly appreciated if you could upload some sample
files of Excel for me and providing HOW-TO for us reproducing your issue on
my machine. More detailed information, I believe, will get us closer to the
resolution.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. If you have any questions or
concerns, don't hesitate to let me know. We are here to be of assistance!

Sincerely yours,

Mingqing Cheng
