Running DTSRUN on 64 Bit Server

Running DTSRUN on 64 Bit Server Michael McCallum

sql server dts: Can you run dtsrun.exe on with SQL Server 64 bit Enterprise Edition? If so,
what files are required on the 64 bit machine the run. Also, is there any
special registration that is required for the components.

Thanks, Mike

Gert,
Thanks for the insite. Been researching this and had not found any examples
where people had used DTSRUN on IA64 platform. I did see one document that
said it could be done, but not how that was accomplished. Just getting
started coverting our database application to 64 bit, and it has the
requirement to be able to call DTSRUN.

Thanks again,
Mike

DTS is not 64-bit, so if you would run it it would be as a 32-bit
application, which means you need to install the 32-bit client stack, which
will laydown DTS. However this is not supported, which does not mean it does
not work especially when you use the IA 32 Execution Layer, available at
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/64bit/ipf/ia32el.mspx. I use this
every day running the 32-bit tools without any problems.

Try this KB-

810927 - Support for Data Transformation Services in SQL Server 2000
64-bit
(http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=810927)

I think you'll find the answer is no.
