sql server dts:
msdb is the key - Backup and restore would also work, or file copy when
stopped as you suggest. This would do the lot, and will be faster and
simpler. As a secondary fail safe you may like to take copies of the
packages, the equivalent of scripting the jobs-

I'm going to rebuild my SQL Server and would like to know the best way to
backup my DTS packages. I'll be completely blowing away the partition where
SQL is installed, and re-installing SQL from scratch. Is it best to simply
copy my msdb db somewhere, install sql, stop sql, then copy my current msdb
over the newly installed db? I also want to backup my scheduled tasks, and
I've already generated a sql script of the tasks, but I don't see this same
option for my DTS packages.

Thanks in advance,

Andre

Darren,

DTSBackup 2000 rocks! Thanks for creating, and giving away, such a great
tool.
