Something similar, I use a UDL through a Data Link connection, set to use
the MS OLAP OLE-DB provider. I can then consume this with a DataPump, using
an MDX based query, and pump the data into a SQL table.

How do you configure the data link. The cube that I am extracting from is on
a separate server from the destination database.

I just follow the GUI prompts. I am normally all on the same server, but
pretty sure it works cross machine, as I would have developed the
package against the remote server on my workstation. Shouldn't be a
problem. Do you have an error?
