SSIS and ODBC Connection Woes Dazza The Fat

sql server dts:
Can anyone tell me how I can get an ODBC connection from the Connection
Manager window into the Control Flow or Data Flow windows?

I have 3rd party ODBC drivers that are essential to gaining information from
our non-SQL systems in order to create data warehouses for AS cubes. I can
create new ODBC connections using these drivers, and these appear in the
connection manager window. In the Toolbox, there only seems to be OLE DB
connectors which are no good to me !! I added the ODBC connector from within
options, but it was ghosted thus cannot be dragged into the working area.

Help !!

Regards

Daz

Ok, understand your pain, this drove me nuts to ...

In the Solution Explorer window of SSIS you should see a Data Sources item.
Right click the Data Sources item and select the "new Data Source" menu
option. This will 'pop' a Data Source Wizard window ... select the radio
button for "create a data source pase on an existing or new connection".
You should see your ODBC data sources listed in the "Data Connections"
panel.

Expect you can take it from there.

Hope this helps.
