How do you deploy a SSIS package?

sql server dts:

I know this is a basic question, but I'm looking for a simple set of
instructions on how to deploy a local package to a server. I've looked
at the document and struggled with this simple task.

I'm on SQL 2005 SP1 Standard Edition at the moment.

There are number of ways to do this.

In SSMS connect to Integration services and import the package (.dtsx)
file.

Build a deployment manifest in BIDS and then click on the manifest and
follow the instructions.
