I can place the Script Task component on the control flow tab. I then
double-click on the Script Task and it brings up the Script Task Editor. I
select "Script" on the left. So far, no problems. However, as soon as I
press the "Design Script" button, I get the following error:

Cannot show the editor for this task. (Microsoft Visual Studio)

I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Integration Services and Visual
Studio 2005 Professional. However, the error persists.

There is never a time where I can edit a script task and select "Design
Script"

Any ideas? Am I facing a complete wipe of my machine and re-installation of
all of my software?

I'm getting a similar error when I create a script component and then
try to open the script editor. I get the error

Cannot show Visual Studio for Applications Editor
The method or operation is not implemented
(Microsoft.DataWarehouse.VsIntegration)

Is there something missing from my install? Do I need to apply a
service pack?

This problem was resolved after I installed SQL Server 2005 Service
Pack 2.
