I need at least Visual Studio 2005 Professional in order to install
and use SSIS right, because you can only access SSIS via Business
Intelligence For Visual Studio...is that correct?

I have Visual Studio Standard, and it seems that won't do.

Can anyone confirm? Thank you.

SSIS is available w/SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition and above. Refer
to this link for details.

Actually, that is not entirely correct. SQL Server 2005 Workgroup
Edition (above Express, below Standard) does not include SSIS.

If you install SQL Server 2005 (any Edition above Express will do) you
should find the "Business Intelligence Development Studio" in the SQL
Server program group. This is a Visual Studio version that only handles
Integration, Reporting and Analysis Services projects.

Well I have the client installation on my machine, and VS Studio .Net
2003.

Looks like I need to install the full server component on my machine
locally though, is that correct? I can see the server has has all the
components.

Hello Zamdrist,

If you have the client tools then you are good to design what you want.
You will not be able to schedule (locally) or run using DTExec but you are
good to design whatever you need.
