Hi,

does any of you know how to use the .NET class

Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.Search.QueryProvider

to query the SharePoint searchengine?

The Microsoft SDK documentation states the following about the
QueryProvider.Execute(string) method:

"The Execute method executes Microsoft SQL Server Full-Text Search
queries. Complex queries must select the SDID column in order to not
return an empty DataSet object."

But what exactly does that mean? I have tried to figure it out by
reading the documentation on fulltext search but I can't see how to
take it from there to a SharePoint 2003 specific query!

Thanks in advance

Cheers

Lars,
While the SDK documentation clearly states what you have quoted in regards
to "QueryProvider.Execute(string) method", your question and clarification
on this documentation might be better answered in the
microsoft.public.sharepoint.portalserver.development newsgroup. I've cc'ed
that group on this reply as I'm sure there is some interest in this group
for a better clarification to this documentation...

Regards,
John
