sql server full text search: Ben,
Could you post the full output of -- SELECT @@version -- as this would be
most helpful in understanding your FTS question based upon the subject
"search in multiple columns" of this posting.

Assuming you're using SQL Server 2000 and want to search across or in
multiple columns either in one table or from multiple table, you may want to
checkout my blog entry on this subject - "SQL Server FTS across multiple
tables or columns" at:
http://spaces.msn.com/members/jtkane/Blog/cns!1pWDBCiDX1uvH5ATJmNCVLPQ!316.entry

If you provide more information, I can provide you with more specific
examples.

Thanks,
John

this seems to be an incomplete post

With SQL 2005 you can specify which columns you wish to search. With SQL
2000 you can specify 1 column or all columns (*), or you could do an or
query

Select *From TableName where contains(Col1, 'SeachPhrase') or contains(Col2,
'SeachPhrase') or contains(Col3, 'SeachPhrase') ....
