Hi Hilary Cotter,
Thanks...
Yes MSPaper.dll exists on my system and also i hv checked

Microsoft Office Document Imaging (MODI) OCR
functionality its working well
MODI is using Indexing services to Index Tiff images. But
I want to use
Sql Server 2000 to index tiff images.
As "Michael Epprecht" is saying that sql server 2000 does
not contain IFilters
Tiff Images. But i hv experience that Microsoft Share
Point Server can index
Tiff Images. But i m clear with it whether it is using
indexing services or Tiff
Tiff IFilter. If anyone knows about it plz clear it ....

Office XP and above ship with the MSPaper.dll iFilter for handling tiff
files.

Check this registry key - HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.tiff\PersistentHandler

If the value is {58F2E3BB-72BD-46DF-B134-1B50628668FB} you have the correct
iFilter installed.

If not you would need to install this on your server to get it to work.
Bring up a tiff file in Microsoft Office Document Imaging, double click on
the OCR button (the eye) and install this feature.

Hi

SQL Server 2000 and 2005 do no ship with a TIFF filter. As TIFF is an image,
OCR needs to be run against the contents of the file.

Have a look at

your options.

both indexing services, sharepoint, exchange, and SQL server full-text
search can use the tiff ifilter.
