sql server full text search:
Hello All,

I was reading BOL, and I came across this statement:

"Many document types can be stored in a single varbinary(max), or xml
column. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 supports certain document types and
provides a filter for these types."

But I can't find any other info on which document types they are
talking about. Could someone please enlighten me on this?

Thanks,
KJ

run this query in management studio...

select * from sys.fulltext_document_types

Should return all the document types...

There is an error in BOL. It should read

"Many document types can be stored in a single varbinary(max), and XML can
be stored in an xml column. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 supports certain
document types and provides a filter for these types."

You can also use sp_fulltext_service 'load_os_resources', 1
and
sp_fulltext_service 'verify_signature', 1

To load os ifilters, like the PDF ifilter. These iFilters must already be
installed on SQL Server.
