sql server misc:
We had a database with lots of backups going back 6 months or so. Someone
dropped that database and we now only seem to have one backup available.

I presume this is something to do with the log being deleted. Is there any way
to get my list of backups back ????

Please help !!!!

Have you checked the Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\BACKUP
directory for any physical files (not overwritten)?

I presume you are referring to backup history retained in msdb?
In which case this might be obtainable from an old backup of
the msdb database with an appropriate date. You'd need to
restore it to some test environment.

Good luck.

I'm not sure actually, when it was dropped, the delete backup info checkbox was
checked, and now there are no backups (oddly enough!)
