sql server misc:
Hi,

I am just installing SQL Server 2000 on my desktop running Windows XP Pro
and intend to install the Client tools onto my laptop and do my access from
the laptop.

When I install the latest service patch, will I also need to install it on
the laptop as well for the Client tools?

I am really new to SQL and do this to learn a new skill to help employment
prospects. I bought the Developer edition.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Regards,

Chris

learned what searches don't work well.

Hopefully someone else provides your answer, AND you take my advice
and think about it. As to what I do, I do not install the SPs on the

Thanks. I've got it worked out now. I did install the SP3a on the
client and it accepted it ok so I assume that there were some updates
applied. Yes, I do try to find these by searching and can usually
resolve things myself. Part of the fund.
