"C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn\sqlmangr.exe" /n

You should try to keep the sqlmangr.exe's shortcut in your Windows Startup
folder. I hope this helps !

Check your Services - Start/Programs/Adminstrative Tools/Services
Make sure the Agent for your instance is set to automatic

Well the Server itself starts but the connection to the right database is
lost.
I have to open the Server Manager every time I start Windows and enter the
SERVER and SERVICES properties.

Peter.
