sql server msde : MSDE Windows User Account Problem

Hi,

OS: Windows XP SP2
MSDE: SP3a

I have installed MSDE as a local administrative user
acccount called MPS.

When I add a domain user account to the pc (with "local"
administrative privileges), this user doesn't even see
that the MSDE application has been installed and thus
can't use it.

Any ideas - it's probably something simple I've overlooked

Greg,

Thanks for replying. The MSDE program seems to be only availbale (within
add/remove programs) to the user who installed it.

I have installed MSDE SP2 whilst logged on as a local Windows User ([clivem]
with admin privileges). I have also upgraded this to SP3a. When I add a
domain user account to the machine MSDE isn't available within Add/Remove
programs to this new user.

Regards,
Clive

Hi Clive,

Sorry but not quite following the question. What exactly do you mean when
you say the user can't "see" the MSDE app. MSDE is not normally "visible" to
any users, apart from possibly the manager icon in the taskpad area of the
taskbar. Is that what you are referring to?

Hi Clive,

Why would you want a normal user to be able to add/remove it on this system?
They can still access the database.
