sql server msde:
Been through a support issue with one of our users. Our software was
failing during a small routine which uses the msdb database to check
when selected databases are backed up by the user. Our software was
reporting an error when we tried to set the .DefaultDatabase property
to "msdb".

Upon more detailed inspection it appears as if the msdb database has
been deleted.

As far as we can see the user has no utility on site to enable them to
gain access to SQL and I am pretty happy that the user has been unable
to delete the msdb themselves.

We have not set an "sa" password - so the question is : Can anyone
indicate to me whether there are any Virii or Trjans that are able to
delete the msdb database.?

TIA

Hi,

I have never tried that, but if your system is unsecured (not set the
sa password), everything can happen.
