MSDE Trys to Install Each Time Someone Logs On Martin Blackstone - MVP

sql server msde: We have 3 or 4 computers with ADP payroll application on them that uses
MSDE.
If I install the package under an account such as administrator, then
another user attempts to use that computer, each time they logon, it goes
through the Windows Installer portion "Please wait while windows configures
Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine" for about a minute or so. Then it
stops, everything is cool. But the next time that user logs on, it will do
it again. This will occur everytime someone logs on to the PC.
This computer is part of a domain and does NOT use Fast User Switching.

Thanks

Thanks Andrea. Maybe I need to take this up with ADP.

hi Martin,

this problem keeps popping up from time to time, but I never saw an actual
solution/workaround.. as you already pointed out, it is usually referred at
installation time or "fast user switching", but sometime not.. :(

Can you post back the solution when you find out Andrea? We're "upgrading"
all our HR applications from Ceridian to ADP. I would like to know of any
gotchas, so I can store them away for reference.
