Not able to installed SQL 2000 Desktop engine on SBS 2003

Dear Sir,
I have window SBS 2003 server, and i want to installed SQL 2000 Desktop
engine on my server.My server is (Domain controller,DNS,DHCP,Exchange server
2003).i want this to make my server as sharepoint server which is bulit in
with SBS2003.

should msde run independence ?
I try to install for standalone(winxp pro) but it checks collation name(sql
server name?).
So I should install sqlserver before install msde. Is it right?

I have installed msde (almost teh latest version) on win2003 server, the
version that came with sage 10, it seems to install fine, the icon by the
clock is green. the program will not connect to it. It works ok when
installed on win2000 server & win2000 prof.
