'Microsoft SQL Server Express Edition' redistribution rights. Gokul

sql server msde: Hi,

I am Gokul, from Chennai - India. I have some queries on 'Microsoft SQL
Server Express Edition' redistribution rights.

We had developed our application in Microsoft .Net FW 2.0 and our
application uses MS SQL Server Express Edition as the backend. We need to
bundle MS SQL Server Express Edition with our developed application and ship
it to our client. I need to know whether I can bundle MS SQL Server Express
Edition and provide to my client and my client can redistribute the software
to his clients (N number of times).

Regarding this query can I get any documentation from Microsoft site?

Thanks,
Gokul…

Hi Gokul,

SQL Server 2005 Express Edition is indeed free to reditribute as you can
see on this link - http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/Aa336346.aspx.

And... Check out the link below that tells how
to bundle it and set the necessary permissions
at install time.
