sql server msde: I cannot seem to install 2005 express on my computer. I am running an AMD
Athlon XP 2000+ CPU with 1 GB of RAM. I have over 100 GB of hard disk space
available. My OS is XP Media Center. The video card is a NVidia GeForce 4 MX
4000. Mainboard is a Micro-star KM2M-L(601-6738-010) K7, KM266, 1ch S/W
Audio, LAN

I tried the installation a day ago and the installation pre check tells me
that my hardware does not meet the minimum requirements. The installation
failed.

I tried again today by choosing to install SQL Express with the C# Express
download. It failed to install. The summary.txt file says in part: "Error:
An installation package for the product Microsoft SQL Server Native Client
cannot be found. Try the installation again using a valid copy of the
installation package 'sqlncli.msi'."

This was an online download installation. Any idea why SQL 2005 Express
won't install? I've never had any beta software of any kind installed on
this computer.

try "unpacking" the SQLExpress package with the /X parameters and then
execute SQLNative Client installation package separately..
then re-execute the whole SQLExpress installer..
