sql server msde: Hi,
I am trying to install the MSDE 200 Rel A on a windows 2003 Server
with MS Win server 2003 enterprise edition, and I am having troubles
doing so.
Attached at the bottom is the log file from the install to assist in
trouble shooting.
Here's the command line prompt that I used for the install.
C:\msderela\setup.exe /i c:\msderela\setup\sql2000.msi /settings
setup.ini /l*v c:\msde_log.txt

I downloaded the MSDE Rel A from MS and extracted it to its native
location, which on this machine looks like
C:\msderela
\msi
\setup

The setup.ini files contains this;
[option]
blanksapwd=3D1
disablenetworkprotocols=3D0
securitymode=3Dsql

So can you help me spot what I did wrong?
Got any suggestions on how to get this correct?

Hi Zonk,

In my experience when MSDE installations go wrong it is really hard to
get out of them. For this reason I would suggest that you go straight
to uninstalling existing traces of unsuccessful installations by
following the instructions on this link -
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/320873 - and then reattempt installation.
