Please help me, i am using sql 7 and NT back office ver 4.

my Auto shrink option was not selected hence the log file
has increased by HUGE amount. i have tried with shrink
database option but still it didnt worked. i am getting
the following error message while restoring the backup of
the same database
'There is insufficient space on disk volume 'd:\' to
create the database. The database requires 7792820224
additional free bytes, while only 2147155968 bytes are
available. Backup or restore operation terminating
abnormally.'
where as my d: drive having 30 GB of FREE SPACE.

Please help me... any response will be highly appreciated.

Hi Sujay
There was a problem that was reported a few times when restoring SQL 7.0
databases using windows 98 desktop edition. Your using windows NT I see.
This problem showed up on systems without service packs or with Service
Pack 1. You might upgrade to the latest service pack. Also, upgrade your
client if you are working from a workstation.

The problem occurred when restoring a backup to create a new database. One
way to workaround this was to create a database with the original size of
the database that was backed up. Then restore over this database. You might
try this.
