sql server new users: Where could I find out what version of SQL Server were released in what
years? I'm doing some research and need to know what versions were released
when.

There are probably some other places but in the book Inside
SQL Server 2000 by Kalen Delaney you will find the history
of SQL Server in the first chapter, The Evolution of
Microsoft SQL Server.
