Mike,

You may want to check out DotNetNuke; it's a decent platform for
building a secure website for free. There may be modules out there
already set up for you, and your coding may be minimal.

Just trying to point you in a direction.

We're a small non-profit org. (NPO) running Small Business Server 2003
(SBS2K3) and will finally (!) get broadband in the very near future. I want
to re-do our website with a ePhilanthropy focus. To do that, I'll need
forms for users to log in, enter and have the site save their info, let me
call up their giving history,a and let me, on the admin side, create reports
on the giving. I think I can create the SQL DB (never done it, but have
worked with Access and am a quick learner), but I don't know how to connect
the DB to our website to make this work. I know I can probably find this
info on Google or Ask Jeeves, but I only have dial-up and slow at that (2-4
KB download), and figured some other NPO techie has already gone through
this.

On a related note, am I asking for trouble by taking on this task? Is it
too much for a newbie. Are there (cheap or free) alternatives?

I want to cut costs for IT by bringing our email and webhosting in-house.
That's why I'd like to try this.

TIA,
