I don't know if I understand your question completely
The client wants to add or remove from a ascii file right?

If so take a look at DTS (Data Transformation Services)

Hello Forum readers,
Any advise on the following, will be much appreciated :

I have a customer who tries to extract some columns (fields) from an
existing SQL table or add more columns (fields)
in order to define a different layout (from the current one) and create a
new ascii file.
I have tried SQL Query Analyzer using RPAD but without success.
Any idea?

Regards, Nick
