Hello all I am extremely new to sql server and I am trying to install Sql
server 2005 beta 2 on to my system that is currently running windows xp pro
with 2gb memory ..I keep getting this message during the : System
Configuration Check everything else checks out but this message...(An
application is currently using a file required by SQL Server Setup. To
proceed, restart your computer, and then run SQL Server Setup again.) I
restart and run sql server setup again and same thing happens....Can anyone

This may be related to attempting to install the beta version (which, if I
recall correctly, is now out of date.)

Download and install a production version of SQL 2005.

Why would you be using SQL Server 2005 beta 2 when the RTM version was
released it in November of Last Year?

I would start out by using the Released Version.
